Dr. Alexandra Colaizzi brings warmth and versatility to stages across the United States.

Dr. Colaizzi’s career features collaborations with premier professional choral ensembles such as GRAMMY®-nominated Seraphic Fire, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Vocal Arts Ensemble (VAE) Cincinatti, and the Franklin Chamber Choir, among others. She has appeared as soloist with GRAMMY®-award winning vocal band Roomful of Teeth, Seicento Baroque Ensemble, the Messiah Festival at Bethany College, and The Choral Arts Society of Washington D.C. at The Kennedy Center. Dr. Colaizzi can be found on recordings by Seraphic Fire (The Apple Tree, 2023) and with the John Daversa Jazz Orchestra (All Without Words: Variations Inspired by Loren, Justin Morell, 2021). She has performed as a soloist and/or ensemble member with the Fort Worth Symphony, Aspen Festival Orchestra, New World Symphony, Kennedy Center Orchestra, and the Cincinnati May Festival Orchestra.
A devoted repertoire researcher and recitalist, Dr. Colaizzi enjoys programming and performing the music of underrepresented composers. Most recently, she was invited to present on the art songs of Dame Ethel Smyth at Source Song Festival in Minneapolis, MN. As a dedicated scholar and researcher, Dr. Colaizzi presented her research Combined Respiratory Muscle Training in Singing Practice at the Pan-American Vocology Association conference in 2023. Her other research interests include AFAB female vocal mutation, LGBTQ+ studies in singing practices, and self-efficacy in the private voice studio.
Dr. Colaizzi has trained and performed at prestigious programs in the U.S. and abroad, including the Amherst Early Music Festival, the International Baroque Institute at Longy, the Seraphic Fire Professional Choral Institute at Aspen School of Music, the Illinois Bach Academy, and the Patti and Allan Herbert Frost School of Music Program at Salzburg.
As of 2025, Dr. Colaizzi serves on the voice faculties of the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Miami Dade College. She enjoys a varied career of performing and research, appearing as guest lecturer for special topics in vocal pedagogy at universities around the country. She also serves as Artistic Education Coordinator for the Seraphic Fire Youth Initiative, designing curricula and leading educational outreach workshops at Title 1 elementary schools throughout South Florida.
Dr. Colaizzi earned degrees in vocal pedagogy, vocal performance, and music education. She currently resides in Miami with her partner and their two cats, Angus and Louise.
